what we offer
Chi Omega is committed to equipping young women with resources designed to help them succeed long after their collegiate days are over. Career readiness, leadership development, and member inclusion are a few ways we prepare Sisters for the future. Read below to learn more about what Chi Omega offers our members!
career readiness
A new and exciting resource for our collegian and alumnae members is ChiO&Co, a platform designed to COnnect Sisters by shared interests and celebrate the achievements of our accomplished alumnae.
Through ChiO&Co, members can participate in the Pearl Program, a mentorship initiative that pairs COllegians and young alumnae seeking professional growth with experienced alumnae in similar fields.
ChiO&Co also features a growing hub of career opportunities, of which many of our Sisters have found meaningful employment.
leadership development
We believe that every woman has the potential to lead, and we’re dedicated to providing the resources, education, and experience that help her do so with excellence. Our leadership initiatives are designed to inspire growth and strengthen our Sisterhood, most notably through Firesides Leadership Training and the Nancy Walton Laurie Leadership Institute of Chi Omega.
Firesides Leadership Training is the Fraternity’s annual leadership conference designed to equip chapter officers with practical tools and strategies to excel in their individual roles while improving the membership experience within their chapter and our Fraternity.
The Nancy Walton Laurie Leadership Institute is a distinguished program that provides leadership training and education for women to foster personal growth and to prepare them to serve the world. Click here to learn more about the Laurie Leadership Institute.
inclusion and belonging
Our Sisterhood goes far beyond policy and procedures; we encourage genuine relationships and meaningful support as well. From the moment a woman joins Chi Omega, she is enveloped with open arms, and that community lasts throughout college and well beyond.
During weekly chapter meetings, Sisters engage in small group discussions that foster authentic connections while addressing topics and challenges relevant to today’s collegiate women.
We are also deeply committed to the well-being and inclusion of every member. Chi Omega provides each member access to mental health resources and each chapter has a Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Chair, who ensures women feel safe, supported, and truly at home within Chi Omega.
What is the return on investment for sorority life now?
Sorority membership provides an opportunity for members to reach their fullest potentials and gain access to a supportive network of women that will help them grow far beyond their college days. Membership in fraternal organizations has been linked to higher well-being for college graduates
In a 2014 Gallup-Purdue Index Study, it was found that college graduates who were in fraternities and sororities were more likely to be thriving in all five critical elements of well-being (purpose, social, financial, physical, and community). Subjects were found to have:
Felt more motivated to achieve goals
Had stronger emotional support systems
Been more effective at managing economic life and increased financial security
Been more likely to be engaged in the community
Higher rates of physical wellbeing
Higher engagement in the workplace and investment in experiential learning opportunities
This video provides additional information on the benefits of membership in fraternal organizations.
In a new Gallup-Purdue Index Study conducted in 2021, the positive impact Greek Life had on members not only affected their collegiate years, but the post-graduate life also.
Great Experiences in College and Workplace: Affiliated alumni are substantially more likely than nonaffiliated alumni to have had all the Gallup defined “positive college experiences,” resulting in better workplaces and life outcomes after graduation.
Great Jobs: Affiliated alumni are more likely than nonaffiliated alumni to thrive in their careers after graduation.
Great lives: Affiliated alumni are more likely than nonaffiliated alumni to be thriving in multiple areas of their lives. They are better able to take care of their own basic needs, adapt to change, and contribute to the support and success of their organizations and communities.
Majorities of affiliated alumni are thriving in every aspect of their affiliated well-being, and they are more likely than nonaffiliated alumni to be thriving in each area:
