Clinical Account Specialist
AmirA Smiley
I was selected to participate in the pilot internship program for the Associate Clinical Account Specialist (ACAS) pathway with Biosense Webster Inc., which provided valuable hands-on experience in the field. After graduating, I was hired full-time and promoted from ACAS to Clinical Account Specialist (CAS), a role that has allowed me to continue growing professionally within the company. In addition to my work in healthcare, I was also hired as the Head Girls’ Golf Coach at Henry Clay High School, where I have the opportunity to lead and mentor student-athletes both on and off the course.

What motto or phrase motivates you?
"Success is a project that's always under construction" - Pat Summitt. Pat Summitt has been one of my role models since I started playing basketball as a young kid, and this quote always kept in perspective how being successful is an ongoing task. This has allowed me to be more comfortable with taking risks and possibly making mistakes because they are something to learn from and there is no time limit on reaching success.
What three words would you use to describe yourself?
Motivated, Kindhearted, Dependable
What advice would you give to someone entering your field?
Do not be afraid to try something new or to branch out into a field you do not know much about. Electrophysiology is such a niche field, but there is so much to gain in terms of cardiac and technical knowledge, and it is a great feeling to know you are helping to improve a patient's way of life. Always apply yourself and never be afraid to ask questions because that is where the most learning comes from!
